Step One:

Choose two colours you want to use. Fold construction paper like a paper fan of equal widths. Cut along the folds.

Step Two:

The base for each floor must be slightly shorter than the roof pieces. Cut appropriately, we just eyeballed it. You can measure if you wish.

Step Three

Cut angled parts to each roof making sure the top part of the roof is the same length as the floor being placed on top.

Step Four:

Glue the floors and roofs down.

Step Five:

Add details as you wish…if you add steps make sure the top step is slightly longer than the length as the bottom floor.

Japanese doors in this type of building do not open like our doors.They slide open so if you want to be authentic look at the picture below.
